Problem & Purpose Statement
Despite the increasing use of artificial intelligence in higher education admissions, limited research exists regarding how institutions can ethically govern AI-driven admissions systems while ensuring transparency, integrity, and equality in decision-making practices.
The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore how higher education admissions and enrollment professionals perceive governance needs, ethical risks and implementation considerations related to AI driven admissions systems. In addition, the study seeks to examine how the principles of transparency, integrity and equality informs the development of practical governance framework for ethical AI in higher ed admissions.
